This machine is a substantial pilot‑/small industrial‑scale unit tailored for efficient extraction of botanical oils, herbal actives, fragrances, or nutraceutical ingredients. It features two 50‑liter extraction kettles which can be used in tandem to alternate loading/unloading while the other is in operation, helping maximize throughput. The machine operates under high pressure (often up to ~40 MPa) and with tight temperature control (ambient to ~85 °C) to bring CO₂ into its supercritical region—allowing it to dissolve target compounds without thermal degradation. It includes at least two separation vessels (for example 27 L + 17 L in one Careddi model) for fractionation of extracts and recovery of CO₂. The system also employs a high‑pressure CO₂ pump (flow‑rate ~100 L/h or more in many designs), a co‑solvent pump (for more polar extraction), heating/exchanger jackets, a chilling system, safety valves and gauges, and control over temperature & pressure to within small tolerances. Fabricated from food‑/pharmaceutical‑grade stainless steel (SS304/SS316), this equipment is suited for operations in cosmetics, herbal & food industries, contract extraction, R&D scaling, or for firms wanting to scale up from lab batches without going full industrial.
