it is a commercial‑scale system engineered for medium‑to‑large production runs of botanical extracts, essential oils, or herbal actives. In a common configuration, this model comprises four extraction vessels of 50 L each (for total extraction capacity of 200 L), allowing for operation in parallel to maintain throughput while individual units are being loaded or cleaned. It is designed for high pressures (circa 35–40 MPa, i.e. ~350‑400 bar) and elevated but controlled temperatures up to about 80‑85 °C to ensure the CO₂ is in its supercritical state—maximizing solvating power while protecting heat-sensitive compounds. The system also includes multiple separator vessels to recover extracts and fractionate them (e.g., light / heavy fractions), as well as a co‑solvent pump for tailored extraction of more polar constituents. Key supporting systems include jacketed heating and cooling systems, a high‑pressure CO₂ pump (often triple‑plunger), precise flow and temperature control (±1 °C), safety interlocks, and control panels (manual/PLC). All wetted parts are generally stainless steel (304 or 316L), with provisions for CO₂ recovery/recirculation to reduce operating cost and environmental footprint.
